1. How is Ascend Tutoring Service different from a learning center?
At Ascend Tutoring, you have two options – We can come to you or you can come to us! Our dedicated and qualified tutors will design a program for your child that is based on their school's curriculum, not a pre-determined program that may not relate at all to what your child is working on in school. We do not do contracts or evaluations (which can cost up to $200) as a prerequisite in order for your child to be tutored. Ascend just gets started ASAP!!
2. Does Ascend Tutoring supply any learning materials for the tutoring sessions?
We highly recommend that your child bring home their school books or any other materials they are working on in their class that relates to the subject(s) we are tutoring. In some cases our tutors will provide materials that will complement what your child is learning.
3. What are your tutors' qualifications?
Our tutors are Master’s Degree Professionals or Math College Majors. We check all references, background check, and personally interview every tutor.
4. Are there a minimum number of sessions for which I have to commit and how long is each session? NO!! Rates are as follows:
Rates for academic preparation:
- $50/hr for Elementary School subject matters (K-5th grade)
- $50/hr for middle school subject matters (6th - 8th grade)
- $55/hr for high school subject matters (9th - 12th grade)
- $55/hr for AP and college subject matters
Rates for test preparation:
- $45/hr for ISEE lower level, GATE
- $50/hr for ISEE middle level, GED preparation or SSAT preparation
- $55/hr for ISEE upper level, ACT, SAT preparation
- $60/hr for GRE, GMAT, MCAT, DAT preparation

5. Do your tutors work with learning disabled or special needs children?
Yes, many of our tutors are Special Needs educators or Licensed Professionals.
6. I have more than one child. Can you tutor all of them at the same time?
All of our tutoring is one-on-one. In order for our tutors to be most effective, and for your children to benefit the most from our services, we do not do group tutoring in a home setting. Talk to the Director for affordable solutions!
7. What geographical areas do you service?
We service all of Ventura County, Agoura, Westlake and the west San Fernando Valley. Call for details an an appointment.
8. Do you provide test preparation for the GATE tests? Yes, we will prepare your student for GATE testing. You need to request that your child be tested. If you want your child to do well on the Gate Testing, let Ascend prepare them in advance. Call now, to get a jump on this long-term preparation program.
